Eating Something Other Than Turkey in Fort Walton Beach



Our Fort Walton Beach office has accomplished two awesome feats over the last six months. Number one - we've added a bunch of new customers!! That's always a good thing for a business, right?? But more importantly, we haven't lost one single employee in that six month timeframe. We've had zero employee turnover we've only hired new people due to our increase in business.

The seven awesome people pictured above have been with our our business for at least six months. Just before Thanksgiving, our manager - Elicia - took them out for a quick bite to eat (minus the turket & dressing)

Update on Two Maids & A Mop of Nashville


Two Maids & A Mop recently opened its fifth location in Nashville, TN. We're only about five weeks old but we've already sold our services to more than 50 homeowners across the greater Nashville area. Plus, we've recently hired our first Office Manager. Kristina Chastain is Two Maids & A Mop's newest manager and she's proven (in a short time) that she's the perfect fit for our company. Shelly Guthrie has recently been promoted to our Training Manager position in Birmingham. She's one of the hardest working people you'll ever meet and she's just a good person to boot! Shelly has only been with our company for a few months but her constant smile and great work ethic vaulted her to the top of the heap in record time. Pumpkin Carving Party in Fort Walton Beach

We decided to toss away the brooms and mops and have a little fun in our Fort Walton Beach office. Our superstar manager - Elicia - devised a plan to hold a pumpkin carving contest.



Everyone had so much fun that the party lasted nearly four full hours!! Yes, there was some free food and free drinks but our people wanted to stick around the office that long because our people are just that awesome!! We have some great people working here!! Plus, we have some pretty good pumpkin carvers too. Check out the winners...

Nashville Is Open For Business!!

Two Maids & A Mop has officially opened for business in Nashville, TN!! It's always exciting times when we open in another market but Nashville has really exploded in our first few days. We've had tons of publicity ranging from radio spots to newspaper articles. We were even lucky enough to be featured on the local NBC affiliate lunchtime newscast!! Meet Our People in Pensacola


We've got some wonderful girls working here at Two Maids & A Mop. Many of you see them all the time inside your home but not everyone gets to know them on a personal level. Everyone already knows that our people are really hard workers but many of our employees are also hard working mothers too.

In Pensacola, we've had three people have babies recently. Amazingly, each of them delivered three girls!! You'll see their pretty pictures to the right. On the left, Christi just delivered and beautiful girl named Emily. In the middle, Regina just delivered a pretty girl named Peyton. And on the right, Diana recently had another beautiful girl named Ryan.

These three girls have been with our company for a long time and they're already back at work helping you. They're dedicated workers - for sure - but even more dedicated mothers!! If you see them inside your home, tell'em I said "Thanks".

Crazy Meeting In Fort Walton Beach

We held a meeting last Thursday in Fort Walton Beach. Our Panama City Manager (Rachel), our Fort Walton Beach manager (Elicia) and myself all attended. I'll spare you all the boring details of our meetings but I will let you in on the crazy events from last Thursday.

Just before lunch, I noticed that my car was no longer in my parking space. Turns out, the parking space wasn't even a parking space - it was a tow away zone!! So my truck was towed and it cost a fortune to get it out of the lot.

Since my truck was gone, we used Rachel's truck to drive to lunch. The lunch was fun and the food wad good. But the good times died very quickly as we proceeded out of the restaurant. Rachel's truck was the victim of a hit & run in the parking lot!!

Obviously, it was a crazy two hours from lunchtime to 2 PM - to say the least. The picture above represents some of those "good times" during our lunch. Needless to say, Elicia & Rachel were glad to say goodbye to me. No more meetings for a while.....

Everyone laughed, talked and ate some good BBQ. If I'm not mistaken, we only talked about housecleaning for about five minutes!!

True Story in Panama City


Here's a quick story of a long time customer in Panama City. Sonja is pictured above & her story is worth telling to everyone. Sonja had used our service a few years ago. She was extremely happy with the service but she kept receiving lower bids on her home. So - like most people - she decided to give the other cleaning companies a try. The results weren't very good. After a few months of trying two other companies - she came back to Two Maids & A Mop and she's been one of our most loyal customers since.

I don't blame Sonja. She's no different than you or me. Who doesn't want to save a little money?? But in the housecleaning world, you're seriously rolling the dice because tons of bad things could happen in your home. If you're lucky, a bad housecleaner will just be a bad housecleaner. But if you're unlucky, a bad housecleaner may break something so valuable that she can't reimburse you for the damage. And if you're real unlucky, a bad housecleaner may actually steal from you. It's a sad statement but true nonetheless. With unemployment at an all-time high, there's more and more housecleaning "companies" popping up everyday.

You have to live it to understand it. But I'll try to convince you right now. Hiring just any 'ol housecleaning company is the same as spinning the roulette wheel. Somebody has to win, but more than likely - it ain't gonna be you!! Just listen to Sonja if you need more convincing....

Meet Our New Training Manager in Fort Walton Beach

Before we introduce our newest Training Manager, let me say goodbye to our former Training Manager. Melissa has worked for Two Maids & A Mop in Fort Walton Beach for more than two years. She's trained several new employees & she's ran the office when our manager was absent many, many times. Melissa plans to open her own business (not a cleaning business!) and we wish her the best of luck!! Thanks Melissa for working so hard!!

Cleaning For A Reason in Fort Walton Beach

In 2004, I received a phone call from a lady (Lisa) wanting to hire our services for her home. At the time, I was answering all the phones, scheduling all the work, paying all the bills and picking up a broom if needed. In a nutshell, I was doing it all. Lisa eventually hired our service and we've been helping her even since. She's seen us go through lots of changes and we've seen her life go throught lots of changes too. She's now married to a wonderful man and she also recently discovered that she has breast cancer. Lisa is doing much better now and she'll be back on the beach soon enough. But right now, she's battling through some chemotherapy sessions. Hopefully, all of you know that we partner with Cleaning For A Reason to provide free cleaning services to women undergoing cancer treatment. It's a wonderful charity to be involved with & we are proud to have provided nearly 100 free cleanings over the years. Meet Our Most Loyal Employee In Pensacola


April has been our Star Employee for more than four years. That's an amazing feat for any employee in today's workplace. But it's even more amazing for a cleaning company. The average turnover in a cleaning business is more than 300%. To put that into perspective, the average cleaning company is changing its entire staff at least three times per year!!

Of course, we're much different. Our turnover level is extremely low. If you're a current customer, you've probably seen the same people each time for some time because we rarely lose an employee to another job. In April's case, she's the perfect example of what hard work can do for you.

April has performed just about every task - including office work, sales support and, of course, housecleaning. She's awesome and if you know April - you know why she's so awesome. Every company could use a bunch of April's. Thank goodness she found our company more than four years ago.

Our Birmingham office just keeps getting busier and busier. I wish that I could take some of the credit, but all of the credit goes to our employees. We've got an awesome group of people working in Birmingham and they amaze me everyday with their caring attitude and hard work. We typically just talk about housecleaning here on this blog. But please allow me the time to talk about the terrible tragedy in Haiti. I can't imagine the pain and sorrow that many Haitians are experiencing at this moment. It truly makes me appreciate my life and my family.
